Fake swords are dangers. It is a good thing you were only swinging at apples in the air.
If you were to take the sword and swinging it around like crazy or trying to like cut tree or wood or just swinging up and down real fast the blade might come out of the hilt and swing backwards and you would get stab.
This actually happen once on Home shop network were the guy was trying to show you that the sword was titanium and that is very sturdy. He swing the sword on to the table back and forth and the blade fell off the hilt and he got stab.

meh... cutting fruits with a gigantic sword is fun... yeah... accidents happen... and you learn from it...
